mercruiser 140 T/T pump

the pump was getting stuck on my 140hp merc, so<br />the guy who sold me the boat told me he'd get me<br />a replacement for free (nice guy). however the<br />replacement he sent me seems to be a newer model<br />2 wire single solenoid as oppsed to the orig. 2.<br />can this one be installed or should I try to<br />exchange it for the older/orig. model?<br />('76 mercruiser 140hp I4)

no worries mate has orig. alpha 1 OD.

MY.. that would be a Pre-Alpha or "R" drive.

holy moley... new trim pumps are over $500? <br />do they sell rebuild kits for them? maybe I'll<br />rebuild the old one and try to make a few $...<br />edit:<br />just checked ebay, they are selling pretty cheap<br />for used ones.

Upgrading to the New 1s.....<br />You'll have to Figure out the Wiring....<br /><br />There's Not alot of Difference......<br /><br />For the Hyd.s, Just Delete the Rev.-lock thingy mounted on the transom,+ Plumb it Directly to the Hyd. Manifold under the Transom Shield.......<br /><br />Used on ebay is the way to Go.........
