So i finally got my engine running rite on my 1977 searay 220 with a mercruiser 228 with the proper operating temps registering on the dash temp gauge after fixing and ignition timing issue. The only problem if it is one now is the exhaust crossover passage going through my intake gets extremely hot, like 350 to 395 degrees after a full throttle run for a few mins when i take the temp using my hand held temperature gun. All other parts of the intake never get above 150 only the area of the passage (including manifold bolt) and temperature spring to open the choke get hot. I pressure tested all the cylinders a few weeks and the all gave me a 140 psi and didnt find any water in the oil, hopeflly nothing has changed in the past two weeks.

Ok so i guess its normal, its my first time working on an engine with a intake exhaust passage so it kinda freaked me out for a sec. Thanks for the input.
