Well, I bought a 1976 Sea ray with a mercruiser 351 ford motor. At first it ran good but I started to notice it was bogging at WOT. It wasn't bad at first so I thought it was old gas. After buying the old gas it didn't clear up. Change plugs, fuel filter and rebuilt the carb. Still had the problem so I change all the fuel lines and tried a portable 6 gallon tank with fresh gas and still had the problem.
The motor idles great, starts right up but once you start going past mid range it just sounds like its not getting enough gas. Doesn't back fire but just sounds like the engine is starving for gas. The list distributor was replaced by the previous owner with electronic ignition.
The strange part is it all runs fine for the first 30 minutes then the problem starts. Any help would be great. Thank you.
