Hi everyone!
I recently became the owner of Sea Ray Sundancer 1980 with Mercruiser 260 engine in it.
Previous owner had leaking exhaust manifold end cap, which caused the water in the engine bay and probably overheated the engine.
Now after i installed the new end cap, exhaust manifold gasket and new ignition coil I still have that knocking sound which seems to me being the misfire in engine cylinder number 8. Once that sound was coming from every cylinder, but i did not have a chance to capture it on camera. When i put another distributor cap the knocking sound may be gone for a little and then comes back, especially if i pull the throtlle on the carb a little.
board journal says new engine was installed and rebuilted less then 10 hours ago, the reason it happened was the exhaust manifold plate (the one with the tiny hole) was missing and engine got overheated. then a friend of mine had leaking exhaust manifold end cap which most likely caused engine to overheat and fluid poured in engine bay.
I've ordered the new wires and new spark plugs, new distributor cap.
Could someone please help me resurrect this baby???
Video link is attached.
Thank you guys!!!
