I just bought a '80 chevy C10 pickup with a mercruiser 260 engine. Can I use GM 350 parts on it?

Someone purposely put a marine engine into a pickup? Or are you referring to the fact that the truck was equipped with an engine like the Merc 260? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, just trying to get the whole picture here. Let us know, post back!

Oh and BTW, Welcome to iBoats SeanCampbell! ;)

Sure you can. If Mercruiser had'nt put it in a boat, GM would have put it in a truck anyway.

That's a pretty beefy 350. It'd do very well, better than what came in the truck. Just don't expect it to pass emissions testing. ;)

yes i had a run it with that before it was a 1985 4x4 truck the truck was over powered and the person still using the motor to day four truck's later he couldn't keep them up right.I though his dad was nut's for giving him the motor to start with it was out of a 36 ft cabin boat that had fire in engine bay one of the two 260 were shot they replaced two of them with new one's and then sold the boat after fixed had one scorched motor that ran with parts from 1985 truck engine that blewup so to save a dollor it fit and ran real good

Talk about a bulletproof motor. I know that a properly prepared truck motor will do fine in a boat. Never knew anyone that took that same special built boat motor and tossed it in a truck. I guess if I had a good boat motor laying around and I needed a good truck motor I would give it a go! You could redline the 'ell out of her no problem! :D
