So i bought a boat that needed a head gasket. Fixed that and then spent weeks tracking a shorted wire( which i eventually found) in the process of finding the short the Previous owner installed an electric fuel pump and i figured that could be the issue so i removed the electric pump and installed a mechanical back on the engine. Well yesterday i was out on the water for a while and on my way back to the launch i started hearing valvetrain noise. Got it out of the water and the hull was full of oil. After just cleaning it out I’m about 95% sure the oils is coming out where the fuel pump bolts onto the engine. What could cause this? Did i get the wrong pump? I put new gaskets in there was like 3 of them that came with the pump and i installed all 3

The factory manual shows one thick gasket. This did not come with one thick gasket it came with three normal thickness gaskets
