Hello! Recently bought a 1996 hurricane deck boat with a mercruiser 3.0 lx that had been taken apart by a previous owner and kept in boxes. I have the engine back together but I am having issues figuring out how the throttle cable attaches. I can attach it to the carb but I can't figure out where the cable anchor goes. Would anyone happen to have a picture of the throttle cable anchored? I feel like I may be missing a part of the valve cover (a stud maybe?) I've looked through a ton of images on google but none are a decent enough angle to see where it attaches. thanks in advance! Cheers!

As I suspected I'm missing a bracket. Anyone have any ideas where I can source one? Mine is the new style with the cables on the valve cover

Like my 1988? They were like this till 1991 i believe. Maybe your box of parts isn't exactly what you think it is. But i'm new and really can't say for sure.

Weathersbytaylor, What's the serial number on your engine?

This is what is on my 1988 3.0L MerCruiser.
Just for clarification purposes, We're going to be in need of Weathersbytaylor serial number to possibly help see what mounting bracketry appears to be missing on his engine. As you've mentioned above, the bracketry designs are different over the year gaps being mentioned here in this topic.

There appears to be three designs that fall within the 1990 - 96 year range alone depended on ignition systems.... A 1988 design may be different as well.
