Hey everyone, I've read all the threads on here and I think I've done it right. A little background, I had a cracked block when I bought the boat, so got a new block and had it rebuilt. Put it all together and now the boat won't start. I'm getting fuel, and I'm getting spark. It's an EST ignition.

When I put distributor in, I put motor at TDC on compression. The crank pully doesn't have a line, but appears to have a V notch cut out, so I lined that up to 0 on my timing tab. Pointed rotor to number # 1 on cap, and installed wires in the 1.3.4.2 firing order. The boat sounds like it about to kick over, but then keeps on cranking.

Any ideas? I'm going to pull the dizzy out and start over. One interesting thing is there are 4 little magnets where the rotor turns on so I made sure when I point to #1 it was on one of the magnets.

I got it to start. I had to engage throttle a little bit. Now I can set base timing
