mercruiser 3.0 running hot

OK guy's please see if you can help me before i pull out my hair...i have a 89 mercruiser alpha 1 .. changed the impeller because it was running hot,,also changed the waterpump it was leaking.....did all of this last night... It did great but this morning i cranked it to adjust the carb and it is running hot,,no water is coming out..so i guess its not pulling any up from the foot...i'm lost

Water in, water out....
Pull the hose that feeds the engine water from the stern start the engine & see if you have flow....
15-20 seconds will answer that....
If not, it is an impeller/watertube issue....
If you have flow, pull the riser & check the dump ports for clogging from scale....
