Is there an easy way to replace the slave solenoid on my Mercruiser 3.0? It's mounted on a metal bracket on the starboard side of the engine block just aft of the carburator. It is mounted with 2 bolts with nuts behind the bracket with about 1/2 inch clearance between the engine block and the bracket. As it is-it can be the cause of "sailor type" language.

Take the bracket off so you can get to it.<br /><br />Manufacturers are not known for makeing things easy to get to.

Don S. You are probably right but there is some stuff hanging on that bracket-hatch cover and so on--but you do what you gotta do I guess. Anyhow, many thanks.

driftwood47,<br />At least you are starting to understand what marine mechanics are up against. Most times it's <br />"How in the blazes can they charge me a whole hour to change such a simple thing" Only two nuts and bolts, and some wires.<br /><br />Actually boat manufacturers seem to be known for making things hard to get to.<br /><br />DHP
