Hey, I have a 1996 sylvan 178 with a 3.0 mercruiser. It’s ran great all season but the yesterday out of the blue it stalls. Won’t restart.. it will start when I pull throttle but dies when put into gear. Finally after the 20th try I can start with throttle and quickly go to gear and it stayed running. Rough running tho. I couldn’t get above 2000 rpm and 10 mph all the way back to dock. Weird thing also is halfway back to shore it ran back to normal speed,rpm for about 3 mins then went back down to 2000 rpm only. Anyone know what’s going on? I tried starting it on muffs when I got hone and it still won’t start.
