Mercruiser 3.0 trim pump bracket replacement (not floor mount)

I'm new here and I didn't want to bump any old threads but I recently purchased a 2003 bayliner 185 with mercruiser 3.0 alpha one. thanks to the wealth of information here I have replaced the V belt and performed some other routine maintenance. Current issue i'm working on is the popular trim goes down but doesn't go up. I jumped the up solenoid for testing and the pump was fine so i proceeded to try and change out both solenoids only to find the trim pump assembly bracket is toast from corrosion. My question is that the current bracket is not a floor mount but rather bolted to the rear stern wall and I cannot seem to locate an exact replacement. Can I use the floor mount kit? How would i mount it? Do i have to screw directly to the fiber glass floor? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

Yes you can use the floor mount, and it would get screwed into the deck. Need to use correct length of screws so not to go thru the hull. Just how would need to be a judgment call and I'm unable to tell from a single close up pic

The current bracket is corroded, but can it be cleaned up and reused?

Here are some better pics of what i'm working with. As you can see it looks like 2 bolts attached to the back stern wall. As for the bracket, it's basically crumbling like a saltine cracker and I figure if i have to contort my body to get in there I might as well just replace it and never worry about it again.

Thanks again for the help.

Thanks, I see your issue.
The boat builder glassed more wood there so screws could be installed. Might be able to do the same if there is enough room directly below it. Add some wood and glass in

Could also move it to another location so long as the lines are long enough.

Sorry but I'm not understanding the term "glass in". is that like "glueing? or an epoxy? Or you mean add wood and fiber glass in?

Get some fiberglass resin and 1708 fiberglass
Sand the spot clean, apply resin and 1708 to new piece of wood, soaking in liberal. Coat the deck spot with resin, then place new piece of wood on deck. Cover top of new wood with resin and 1708 and coat liberal. Let dry

OK. More work then. Lol. any chance the hole clusters on the back of the floor mount might line up with current bolts?

Don't know
Could always get a floor mount and modify it or add another plate to it, to bolt on the bulkhead

Just an update:
this is what i pulled out and the finished project after 4 hours of "contorted" work. I ended up screwing down the bracket using some other tie down camp screws that were also in the deck as a depth gauge, They were 3/4".

the question I have now is that this boat doesn't have a trailer button and the trim up rocker seems to be single position. I can trim all the way up on the throttle so why is there a trim limit sender on the rear? Doesn't appear to stop the trim up. Can I damage the transom if I trim up too far?

Also thanks Alidodge for your help on this.

No need to a trim limit if there is no trailer button. Its there for looks, and the limit is the other half of the rubber grommet used to seal the drive
