A few comments on what seems to be a very popular topic here: What is the best prop for 3.0L in a runabout focused on 'water sports'.

I recently down-propped from the stock 21" Quicksilver 3 blade aluminum to a 19" Michigan Match to get better water toy performance. Just got back from our annual houseboat vacation and put about 40 hours on the boat... here 's a few observations.

Pull out of the hole is better (expected).
Slinging tubes across the wake is better (expected)
Top speed dropped from 44 to 37. (expected)
There is a bit more prop 'noise' at certain RPM ranges
WOT RPM of the engine dropped from 4700 to 4300. ( unexpected!)

I am interperting the noise and WOT rpm drop as an indication of a less effecient propeller. Looking at the two props side by side, I can see that the blade bases are much thicker on the Michigan, probably causing more drag at high rpm. Exhaust 'port' configuration is also a bit different between the two props.

This summer the kids have started water skiing and wakeboarding so I'll probably look next at a SS adjustable-vent prop in 20" pitch. (the tubes are being outgrown)

The overall objective is to get the elusive decent holeshot and 40 mph top speed out of 135 hp.

I guess I could re-boat, but though the 135 hp leaves something to be desired for pulling skiers and wakeboarders, the $50/day fuel bill is a lot better than the $150 I see the dedicated wakeboard boats using. (Marina gas here is $4.40/gal)

Feedback/suggestions more than welcome on next prop.
Vensura? High-5? This one will be expensive... so I only want to do it once.

I don't want to go smart-tabs as I use the boat for Salmon fishing and having additional hardware back on the transom makes a good place to cut a line on.

i have a maxum 2000SC 3.0 pretty much the same boat 19'6"

The WOT drop makes no sense at all i also when from a 21 to a 19" Michigan Wheel Vortex which uses the XHS hub i still can run 41 MPH and if buy myself it will WOT around 5000 RPM

which i dont recmoned or do :)

I drilled mine with 1/4 in vents and it gives the hole shot a good boost BUT the lack of cupping limits the trim range with vents

I certainly wasn't expecting to see a WOT RPM drop either... on the contrary, I was expecting a slight over-rev capability just about like you've noted. The additional prop 'noise' was a bit unexpected too.

I'll repeat the test on the next trip to the lake. Budget constraints will probably postpone the high-end prop purchase until sometime this winter. Till then the MM 19 will do fine.

the p/n for the hub kit to install an Enertia on an SX is 835270Q 1.
This prop is the first I've ever ran that had great hole-shot and a surprising top-end...no loss in speed, actual gain in speed, yet still has break-neck hole-shot and acceleration.

I was prop playing and went from a SS to an alum, gaining about 3/4" in dia and dropping 1" in pitch. The blade geometry of both props was decidedly different. The Al was a Hustler and it mimmics SS props pretty much; not your classic window fan al prop. I was attempting to get a lightweight prop to stop my clutch dog clattering.

I lost 600 rpm's of top end also (other things like your remarks); expecting as you to increase rpm's.

It's got to be either poorer prop efficiency, or doesn't lift the bow as much and there is more boat in the water causing more drag.
