Mercruiser 3.0L - Automotive Alternator Equivalent

Hi all, I needed to have my alternator tested for a Mercruiser 3.0, so I went to Autozone and O'Reillys, but both stores said they cannot test marine alternators without the auto equivalent part number. Does anyone know what that is?

The two marine alternators that I have are part # 862030-1 and 817119-2.

Don't know but you can test it on your motor. Get it running and see if it produces 14.5V or so at 1500 rpm

If you can find a ALT repair shop they will know.
