Hi.
My 1999 mercruisr 3.0l appears to have a misfire between 2200 and 2800 revs, as you push control lever forward the engine seems to loose power before picking up as the lever is pushed further forward. If held between 2200 - 2800 revs it does not pull well and sounds like not firing correctly on all cylinders. The engine was seviced this year 20hours reunning time since. Has anyone any ideas of the cause of the problem, would appreciate some avice. Thanks.

recheck the timing. check for any vacuum leaks, check fuel pressure, maybe have carb checked and serviced if needed.

Had a similar issue w/ my 3.0LX and it turned out to be a blown head gasket that eventually lead to having the head rebuilt. Do a compression check on all 4 cylinders before you dump any more money into it. I would also suggest going up to the stickies section @ the top of this forum and read up on the symptoms listed close to yours and then download the manual for your engine and go from there Good luck!
