Hey Everyone, In need of some advise from the boating elite again....

I have a 18ft Bayliner with a Mercruiser 3.0l 135 Inboard.

Everything runs great but when i'm out in choppy conditions and bouncing over the waves, as the boat comes down off a wave and digs into the ocean, for a fraction of a second the engine seems to bog down. Could this just be a result of increased resistance as im lower in the water and the engine is having to labour a bit more, or could there be something more sinister going on. If it's not normal what could I check. I've been stranded at sea once before and not too keen on a repeat experience.

Thank you for your comments

i don't think so.

my 'ol lady said the same thing the other day when it was choppy out. though i was just idling along.but the same thing happens. bow digs in, engine labors. + in my case the drive was coming in and out of the water as i'd go up and down the wave. made it sound different with ea. passing wave.

i think it's normal..
told my ol lady there was nothing up with my boat... at least not in that respect..

Got marine growth on bottom of the boat? That will create drag!

Fresh coat of anti-fouling and only just dropped it in the water... she's done it ever since I bought her, revs are going down not up like with the prop coming out the water, I feel the same as you guys that its nothing to worry about. But it sure is nice to speak to a few people with a similar opinion and/or experience. Thanks

mine does the same, then all the people in the boat look at me funny lol or it's the 6-30 packs of beer on ice slowing the momentum a tad
