Hey there. I am looking for some help with my mercrusier 3.0LX 1995. The boat was sitting for about 2 years, I started with replacing all of the fluids including gasoline in the boat to crank it over. I could not get the boat to start. I then rebuilt the carburetor because the needle was sticking and i was not getting fuel into the carb. After my rebuild i got the engine to start for about 30 minutes and heat it up to temperature. The next day, i went to go start the boat, and it turned over and then died at idle. I then did the following:
Changed the Fuel Water Seperator
Changed the Fuel Filter on mechanical fuel pump
replaced the fuel line
Checked for gas flow with the line off of the carburetor and there was gas
I replaced the spark plugs
I checked the spark and compression at each cylinder and it was correct
I am not seeing any problems with getting gas into the carb while i am pumping the throttle, however i rebuilt the carb again after i could not get the boat to start.
This is what is happening: I will let the boat start early in the morning and then the boat will fire up and then immediately bog down. I will then try to start it again, and it will bog down faster, until it will not even try to crank over when turning the key.
Let me know any thoughts please!
