I have a mercruiser block casting number 14010207 it's a gm 350 small block. I have a cracked 882 head. Is a 217 head comparable with this block. I know it's not equal to but will it work. I have a opportunity it get a good deal on some used heads and I really want to get back on the water

any SBC head will bolt on to your 1980-1984 block.

however if you have one cracked head, you will have two.

suggest you replace in pairs.

the 882 head is a 76cc chamber. the 217 head is a 64cc chamber. the 217 will require a different intake manifold then the 882

if you plan on going to 64cc, suggest a change to vortec heads ( will require an intake change)

If you have to change the intake anyways go with the votec heads you wont regret it.
