2001 350 Mag MPI.
Took the boat out for the first time this year and would start for a few seconds and then die. Now won't start at all.
The fuel pump runs for 5-10 seconds and then shuts off after the key is turned to on.
Removed the fuel filter and very little fuel in it.
The filter was changed in the fall.
With the filter off, pressurizing the fuel tank with air does send fuel to the filter bracket.
Could it be a bad filter or maybe the pump running but not pumping fuel? Any other possibilities? It ran fine last fall.

Fill the filter entirely with fuel then try to start once.If that fails to work then plug an ouboard fuel source to that fuel inlet at the filter.Give the primer only a pump or two. Wipe up any spilled fuel, run the blower, and with the fake a lake, or in the water ,see if she will fire off.Bottom line here ,is you do not want to keep dry running this fuel pump or you will waste it and remember,we've got fuel involved here ,so please be carefull.

Maybe your pump isn't getting power. Electric pumps need to see the motor running to actually work. Some work by seeing the alternator charge, others by seeing oil pressure. All pumps get get power before start(a separate power source) that allows the system to pressurize, but after that they need the motor running to stay on. Hook a multimeter to the pump and verify 12 volts after the intitial start.
