Hi everyone

Mercruiser 383 stroker closed cooling system.I am having issues with this sensor...it disconnects the throttle around 3200 -3400 rpms .I bought a new sensor....no joy!tried to solve the issue by checking water press. Raw water pump impeller etc...all looks good engine doesn't overheat at all.I disconnected the sensor and engine is running fine.Unfortunately max power is limited to 90% because of the disconnected sensor and I get an annoying beep every minute which I want to get rid of.I read that it is possible to bypass this sensor but I don't know the resistance value, any clue?
Many thanks
Cruiser.
One more question
My engine came out of the factory with dry joint exhausts and raw water cooling .Because of the closed cooling installation dry joint exhaust manifolds and risers have been replaced by the old stile ones...could they cause any problem to the engine? In my opinion they are cheaper to replace when time will come and so far I am not having any issue..
Thanks

I remember a while back (maybe a year) someone did post the sensor values. Can't remember exactly what they were, sorry.

As for closed cooling and dry-joint. Who did the conversion? Because all that's required for the conversion is a change of gasket between the manifold and elbow. You keep the dry joint system. As for replacing them, the manifolds will never need to be replaced (coolant inside), and the elbows are the same price, dry or wet...

Havent found one cheap enough to test but if someone has that oem part I can set up a test bench to get the correct values of pressures vs ohms readings
Just need one sent and will return it.
