Hello,

First post and after some help, I have a 1999 Bayliner Ciera 2355 with a mercruiser 4.6 V6 EFI with what I believed was a Barvo 2 Sterndrive. It seems after some research into replacing the Serpentine Belt that I actually have a Alpha 1 Gen II.
The Serial Number of the Engine is 0L316021 and I am looking for the correct belt, also attached a couple of pictures.

#14 there are several belts listed depending on configuration. Alternatively take your belt off and go to decent autoparts store

Yes you have a Alpha one gen 2 drive not a bravo 2. Your drive has been replaced with an SEI aftermarket replacement drive, which is fine.

Interesting, thanks for the info on the aftermarket aspect. Does this make any difference when purchasing parts? This makes a lot of sense as the paint condition on the drive was like new which did confuse me.

I don't think it does make a difference buying parts should be 100% interchange. I would strongly urge that for things like water pump impellers and bellows that you use OEM merc items, very common them on this forum that the OEM items last longer. Overall the SEI is a common lower cost (vs OEM drive rebuild/purchase) replacement that seems to hold up well.

Since the PO roached the drive I would ensure the bellows are in good shape and your gear oil has been replaced and isn't getting water in it.

Thanks for the input, good advice.

This SHOULD be your belt... But as already suggested, remove the belt and take it to your friendly local car parts shop and have them match it up, it'll be about half the price of a Merc one, and it's EXACTLY the same! (where do you think Merc get them? ;))
