mercruiser 4.3 lxgen+ specs

I am looking at buying a used boat with a with a 4.3 lxgen+ engine. I am familiar with a 4.3 engine but have never heard of the gen+ suffix and can't find any info online. The engine is a 1996 model.Any info would be appreciated. <br /> thanks

This is the version with the 3rd shaft.....<br />It's got a counter-balance shaft mounted above the cam, in the lifter valley......<br />The only Noticeable difference is the Timing Cover,+ it's gasket......
