I have a 94 4.3 that just quit as the throttle was being let off. Turn the engine over and it fires right up but emediatly quits. Seems like a safety feature is kicking in.Fuel is fresh and is venting properly. Any ideas?

Check the oil pressure switch. It gives power to the fuel pump once the engine has 2 or 3 pounds of oil pressure. It's located on the port side at the rear above the oil filter. Pull the two wires off and jumper them. If the engine keeps running then replace the switch.

Yup...sounds right. I had the same thing last week. It started like a charm, ran for about 30 secs and died right out.

$30 bucks or so and you are back in business.

Another place to look is your safety kill switch. It will crank and fire as long as you're turning the ignition switch, and then, when it "fires" and you let go of the key, it'll instantly die (or at least mine did).
