I have a Mercruiser 4.3 (2007) carb engine.
It is running superbly so no problem there - however the Tachometer display occasionally goes erratic.
Will be chugging along for example at 3000 rpm ... then the needle will pulse upwards to 4000, hunt up and down between 3000 and 4000 ... and then settle back to 3000
There is no change in engine note, so the revs aren't actually changing ... just Tach reading.
Where should I start to try and clear this.
Happens 3 or 4 times each time take boat out, so reasonably intermittent.
