Engine: 2006 mercruiser 4.3l carbed

PLEASE HELP, engine starts and idls perfectly. Once warm will throttle up and down great as well. HOWEVER, once the engine is turned off after being warmed up and turned back on it runs horribly.

So far done
cap rotor
wires
spark plugs
Cleaned/rebuilt carb
compression check (one bank more consistent than other but still within tolerance)

Any help would greatly be appreciated

:welcome: to iBoats . . .

My engines don't run at all once I turn them off. Oh, but that's not the question, is it :)

I would suspect the choke is re-activating when it is not needed. Are you doing anything with the throttle when re-starting it while warm? (Don't)

Got any YouTube of the problem to share?

All that stuff you replaced . . . that wasn't the problem . . . usually isn't.

Haha, I'll try to get video soon, haven't been moving throttle.

Does it smooth out after a few seconds/minute whatever? If so, might be flooding when you're stopped. Or, like said above, choke might be activating. Not sure if the TKS has a traditional choke plate in the carb that you can look at to see if it's closed?

Update: Thanks for all the help!

Fuel was leaking past to vacuum leak, previous owner had installed 4mm gasket which after carb rebuild I had mistaken for the spacer. Took that out, and replaced replaced spacer gaskets. Also ventura may also been clogged. Ran at 2500 rpms and covered carb just until just before dieing a few times.
