Mercruiser 4.3L Timing Marks...only a tab

Have a 2010 4.3L TKS/Carbed and want to check timing. Timing tab has only one notch and is without increments or labeling. How do I determine 10deg BTDC? Thanks

Either need an Advance timing light (maybe rent from local auto store) or need timing tap. The tap comes in different sizes and would use the one which matches your damper diameter

Or use a little mathematics and calculate how far from the zero line 10 degrees would be and draw your own mark...
