Attempting to change oil (20 hour new engine) using Mercury manual oil pump threaded onto dipstick as depicted in engine owner's manual. Oil filler cap removed to vent system. Pumping, but no oil being extracted. Anyone know why? Second question - since my engine is only about six months old, shouldn't it have the "easy / quick drain tube" which is tethered to the bilge drain plug? This also shows in the engine manual. Can't seem to locate that either. Any help will be appreciated!!! Thanks

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... I bought a Mouller "pump it, 'n walk away" model awhile back,....

I wish I'd bought it Years ago....

The base plug should be bottom aft, port-side of the pan,...
You'll either see a plug, or a hose on yer's...

Those hose adapters don't work so well either, deathly slow,... Mine's got 1 I built...

Did you warm the engine up so the oil was hot? If not, you may never get the oil out.

With any luck, they quit making those things, took days to drain in many cases. I left one one time for 2 days just to see how it worked, got a cup full out. Started it up, warmed it up, pumped it out the dipstick in about a minute. Of course I had an electic pump, but that vacuum pump Bond-o is talking about is used by a lot of the members here.
