Hello,

My first time in a forum. Hopefully someone can help. I am replacing my boat?s engine. The engine I am installing has a regular truck camshaft. It is a GEN V Chevy 454 C# 10114182. It has flat tap lifters. I need a camshaft that will provide a lot of torque when taking off. The boat is a single engine 28 ft Maxum SCR with a Bravo 3 outdrive.

Which camshaft would be comparable to what a Mercruiser 454 has for a camshaft? Any help will be appreciated.

Thx, Noel

here is a link to summit racing's list of Comp Cam Marine engines.

if you havent upgraded other items, and are just looking at the cam, you should keep it pretty mild.

such as

or

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-CL11-236-4/

truck cams ARE NOT Marine cams.
