Mercruiser 454 efi charging system

Hello all, I am new to this site and looks excellent for my boating needs and questions. I have a 96 celebrity 240 bowrider I purchased last year. doing some upgrading and TLC and I am needing a schematic for the engine harness. I am installing a battery isolator and removing the perko switch. looking mainly for the charging system diagram as to see if I need to wire an exciter to the isolator. there is a post for it but don't know if its internal or external excited. thank you for any help.

I use to recommend isolator's my self, and still have one on my Rinker, but now recommend the ACR (automatic charge relay). You need a manual switch in order to combine batteries when needed. Its also a good thing to have for a simple battery disconnect so electrical work can be done.

Leave the charging system as-is and install a ACR. Use either of these
