Hello,

I bought a 19' silvercraft with a mercruiser 470. It appears to have had a blown head gasket. So I've torn the engine apart to replace it. (also putting in new seals as well) Does anyone know the torque specs for the head bolts? I know that it's a ford 460 head. (looked up specs for that and it's 120ft-lbs! I KNOW thats not right for an alum block)

Andrew

Mercrusier manual says: Head bolt torque is 130 FT LBS. Torque with valves closed and in 3 steps. Retorque after first start up.
