Mercruiser 470 fuel pump...rebuild, replace or electric?

Title says it all... I'm trying to bring a 1985 Wellcraft 192 back to life and discovered the mechanical fuel pump on the engine was rusted shut. Do I rebuild it, replace it or switch to electric? I'll include some pictures to show the level of degradation and we'll see what answers we can come up with. My first inclination is to his replace it, but I was curious on the cost benefit analysis of switching to electric. Does the extra money, work and fabrication really make the electric worth it?

Thanks!

I almost went the electric route but in the end I decided that the mechanical pump worked well for many years and just went with a replacement.

Thanks for the replies. I decided to stay with the mechanical pump. I actually just cleaned up the one I had for now since the one I ordered was not the correct one. I was able to get the boat running for the first time this evening and I need to do some carb or throttle adjustments. I was only able to keep it running with the throttle slightly advanced and around 1500rpm. If I brought it back to neutral it would just shutdown. Guess I'll have to wait until after the storms pass to try and trouble shoot.
