mercruiser 496 alternative water pickup

this is the deal
my boat is in the water 24\7 i want to flush engine while boat is in water i asked around and i find out that it can be made with a nice Y Valve on the input of the water pump i just need to find that hose so i can install the y valve on it!! the close i got was a red hose on the way to the pump from the transom please i need you to confirm so i can get to work
tell me if you need photos i'm working on it - this is the best i got

Put the y valve in where the black coupler that you have outlined is.This is where mercruser installs there duel water thru hull pickup.And from your photo you're only going to be flushing the seawater pump and heat exchanger.Be sure to only use only marine parts and double clamp everything GL Ted

Ayuh,... Is that Your motor, or just an internet photo,..??

It's plumbed Wrong...
The way it's pictured, the antifreeze from the manifolds, Dumps out the risers...

That picture looks like it's plumbed as a "Half" system.......Block cooling only.

o.k it was pretty simpe installation you guys halped me alot!!!
my Y valve dident fit as good as i thought so i removed it
