Mercruiser 496 will not throttle up.

Hi . I have a 2008 mercruiser 496 engine. The problem is it will idle fine, but as soon as you throttle up the engine brakes up. I ran the engine after it was cold. Ran fine. but after warm up it crashes. New spark plugs,wires, checked to make sure they are on right.I;m thinking a sensor is bad some place.... Thanks for any info. Mike.

Hi there, Is there any warning horns going off? May want to test your fuel pressure and your Crankshaft sensor. The Crank sensor can be heat or debris sensitive and not sound any warning horns at times. A marine scan tool may also be needed to help locate the problem, Hope you find it soon, let us know and good luck.
