Mercruiser 5.0 MPI and NMEA 2000 GPS

Hi guys,

I tried to find more info on the net about this but it is VERY scarce. But for some reason, I am pretty sure that someone did this already.

I have a 2013 Mercruiser 5.0 MPI engine ... which I would like to interface to an NMEA 2000 compatible Charplotter. By doing so, you can export tons of data from the engine (RPM, hours, temperature, fuel consumption, ...) and display it on your char plotter.

BUT I was not able to find what connectors are needed. I need some kind of converter/connector that will connect to the engine, and will connect to the charplotter. Finding info about this is very tough.

Any of you guys did this?

I am aware that Mercruiser have a product named SmartCraft ... which is in fact a multi purpose small round gauge that will read all info coming from the engine. But this is not what I am looking for. I just want the interface that will let me connect the engine to my charplotter.

Any idea? My local Mercruiser dealer seems more interested in oil changes than helping me on this ...

You need a smartcraft to nema gateway, google it

They are plug n play, will still need terminators or tee's maybe, depends on what you have
