2001 305 EFI engine<br />Engine sensor for over heat went off; shut down engine; no damage seemed to be done to engine<br />idel pully broke and belt came off; so no water; therefor over heat alarm<br />replaced pully new belt engine started right up and idel perfect about to go on a test run when backing up the engine shut down <br />engine will not restart<br />fuel is being injected into the throttle body<br />replaced sesor in dist. cap <br />exchanged computers<br />exchanged coils ANY SUGGESTIONS?

if your going to DIY and EFI motor you need a service manual there s a lot of flow charts to track down a problem without guessing<br /><br /><br />tommays

Gonna need some more information.<br />What is the serial number for your engine? Things changed from 2000 to 2001 and there are different manuals. You could verywell have a 2000 engine package in your 2001 boat.<br />Do you have spark to the plugs?<br />You mentioned it died in reverse. Did it die when you was going to reverse or after you was in reverse and started giving throttle?<br />What drive do you have ? Alpha? Could be the shift interrupt switch/shift cable problem.<br />Did you check the safety lanyard switch?
