Mercruiser 5.0LX Alternator & Pwr Steering Belts?

Please help, I'm trying to identify the part numbers I need to replace the belts on my 1991 Merc MCM 5.0LX, serial number 0D520447. This model has the fresh water cooling system, if that makes a difference. I can't seem to locate the belts, using my engine numbers, in the Sierra catalog, or the Iboats Mercruiser engine search feature of Iboats.com.

If you could help me locate the correct belt numbers, I sure would appreciate it!

If you remove the belts and take them to your local NAPA dealer they can match them up with a Gates belt replacement. Nothing about the belts are marine specific.

OK, that certainly is one way to do it. I think the proper service manual is Mercruiser Manual #15. I don't have that manual, however. The part number for the belts I need may be in that manual. I was hoping some kind soul might have access to it and could post the numbers for me.

My belts are not bad, I just want to get a spare set to keep on board. Taking them off for sizing purposes is the last resort, which I will do if no one here happens to have the information I need.

The service manual you need is Mercruiser part #90-816463 and the parts manual is Mercruiser part #90-816596.

The service manual will not give you part numbers. Since you have your engine serial number (0D520447) just go to Mercruiser Parts Express go to Parts for Mercury Marine Products follow the directions and look them up. You don't have to order anything, just use the lookup for your SN.
