Mercruiser 5.7 and Alpha I "Y" Pipe

Looking at converting my Thru-hull exhaust back to the original setup. The Y pipe is missing. I have an Alpha I on a Merc 5.7. Is there a "special" pipe I need or will anyone work for an alpha I?<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Tallman

I went thru hull last year and have a y-pipe sitting around. I would trade it for a couple of the 90deg pipes that go between the risers and y-pipe. I have to run 6in. riser spacers so I don't ruin my new engine and I don't want to cut my new S-pipes. I can sell them to someone who needs them.

Hi Tallman. I just purchased a Formula with a 5.7 MerCruiser and thru hull. Can't have the noise at my age! Were you successful? How did you deal with the holes left by the thru hull pipes? Thanks for any information you can provide!!

Mamier:<br /><br />Just getting started, trying to figure out what I will need a find some cheap parts to do it.<br /><br />To block off the holes I probably will get some Stainless steel or something and cut out a couple of circle and weld it in or something. <br /><br /><br />I will let u know what happens. It will be a while though. I am getting ready to move down South. Once I get established there, I will go to work on it
