hi people after a little input after rebuilding my engine. Just rebuilt my late Vortec block but using my old running gear and ignition for my old 260 I’m using the thunder bolt ignition system just wondering if I should be setting my timing at 8’ or 10’ on the timing marks?
also any ideas on the power this engine should make with a Edelbrock 4bbl carb on it?

You’re probably fine with either. Maybe see how it does with some test runs down the lake. I have an old 260 with around 1000 hours on it and have the timing advanced pretty far. Not exactly where it is but I know it’s beyond 10.

Suggest set at 8 for points or TB-4 and 5. or what the manufacture of the distributor/ignition module if different recommends
