okay so I have the trim sender and and limit switches replaced. everything is going smoothly until i try to get the lower unit to go down so I can install the hinge pins. for whatever reason I cannot get the trim to go down. is there a trick to this that I am missing? will it not go down if the sender and limit switches are disconnected? im confused and feel like im missing something simple. I just bought this boat and if you have seen my other posts its been kinda a nightmare. This is the last thing I have to finish up before finally taking the kids wakeboarding. HEEEEEELLLLLPPPPPPP!!! Oh wait... did that sound desperate?

I'm confused. are you saying you left the outdrive on the boat, tilted up, and then removed the hinge pins to change the limit switch and sender ?????

so i ended up having to replace the trim pump as well... go figure. I was able to install the hinge pins and put everything back together. everything start... everything goes up and down. but when we took the boat on trhe lake there is a small hole below the water intake inside the boat that water was coming in. I figured it was a small bolt or something that was loose. I installed a wire thru the hole from insde the engine compartment to narrow it down before I removed everything again. the wire was ion the bellows. I put the muffs on the boat and water comes out when its idling too. what could cause water to enter the bellows when not submerged in water? I understand water entering the bellows when in the lake but not when its on the muffs. nothing should be pumping water through the bellows as far as I know right?

If the bellows is full of water, when you start the engine, the ujoints spinning around will displace the water out the hole.

Fix the problem, don't just try to cover it up so you can keep boating. It will only make things worse if you keep running it.

I agree Don thats why i immediately took the boat off the lake. I just like knowing how far I need to tear something apart before I start. Learned that the hard way! LOL If thats the case im guessing its within the seal on the bellows. looks like im takin her back apart tonight!
