When I got the boat I decided to reposition the cool fuel and fuel water separator on my engine because of how bad a position it was in. I've always struggled with high fuel pressure. Is there a way to keep the layout i have work? I don't really want to put it back the way it was supposed to be because of how inaccessible it is.

I've never really got it on plane and it backfires over 2000 or so rpm

thanks
Mark

First check the fuel lines into the filter head. Was unable to verify that the input line coming from the filter to pump is coming from the side with arrow pointing out, and line from regulator goes to arrow in side

Are you sure your gauge is accurate?

You can see when fuel goes into the bottle and not back to filter there is very little fuel going in and pressure drops way off. If the filter actually had close to 100 psi the rubber fuel line coming from the tank would burst or leak bad

I have incoming fuel on the left side arrow in, to pump on the right side arrow out, return right side arrow in. This matches the fuel pump top (see below)

but it doesnt match the diagram from mercruiser (see below)

I haven't verified the gauge, but its a bosch and brand new....

The pic is just a representation and is not used as actual.

Check the return line at the filter head and make sure its not plugged

If its all good, then it has to be the regulator. The pump will pump 100 psi, but if the Reg see's anything above 60 psi or so it breaks the Reg.
