There is a chance on buying an older boat. I don't know, I like the styling I guess. Plus it's not so expensive. They guy took the engine apart to clean and rebuild, never got around to do this. Other than disassmebling it. Now my question is this. Easier to get the parts to do the rebuild? Or can I put in a replacemenmt (larger engine) with less hassles? Take a look at the engine and let me know what you think.

Grasshopper....

http://members.shaw.ca/Napa169/boatmotor.htm

OMG!!

Grasshopper, you have an old Renault/Mercruiser. They ran from 1967 to 1969. I doubt whether you'd find anybody to work on it and I think parts would be big zero by now. Unfortunately the drive unit won't match up to anything newer either.

Chris.........

Thanks for the input. I thought it would be a trifle tough as doing a search on the net resulted in nada.

A new motor and stern drive places the cost of this puppy too far outside of the realm of what I want to spend. It would be cheaper to bu ya newer boat with this already working.
