Hello,
I have a Merc 888/Ford 302 setup in my houseboat. In the process of cleaning up wiring and getting to boat to 100% I have decided to upgrade to the new style shift kill switch and plate as referred to by Service Bulletin 02-01. Reason being that most of the time, coming out of gear the engine likes to die when the old roller switch activates, even with adjustments, just very sticking and gummy. I also do not have trim on this boat anymore and therefor I won't have to mess with a new trim reverse switch. The shift cable and outdrive are in great shape, actually did a bellows install yesterday and got the boat back in the water. I have the part number 864363A1 but I'm not for sure if this is what I need or not, it came with some two sheet Mercury instruction pamphlet that is totally useless. Has anyone ever done this mod and have pictures or can provide advice.
Thanks for the help,
Justin
