I am currently in the process of re-installing the outdrive on my 1976 Formula Thunderbird with a Merc. 888 outdrive. The prior owner had the outdrive off as the shift cable broke and needed replacement. I noticed that the wires to the trim sender/switch that go through the transom were cut on the outdrive side and can see no other wires in the gimbal housing/ring that look like they were attached to a switch. I guess I have 2 questions:
1. Will the tilt/trim work without this switch hooked up? My guess is no as only the in switch works right now.
2. Does anyone have a picture of where the switch is intended to be mounted or know where I could find a working/used one?
Thanks in advance.
