I need help. I have a celebrity with a motor 97 mercruiser alpha1 3Lt. I been trying to start it up but i couldn't. I already Change the sparkplug and the ignition coil. I do not have electricity in the spark and in the coil. The motor cranks but do not run. I try doing a bridge with battery directly to the coil and it work. What can i do? Can be the run button switch?

If it will start when you jump it from the battery to the coil, then you have something in the ignition switch or the wiring (Purple wire) to the coil that is bad. About all you can do is start checking from the ignition switch back till you find the break. Could be the switch, fuse, kill switch (With safety lanyard) bad connection.

Thanks Don S. and Tommays,<br />I'm new to this stuff and i don't know were is the kill switch can you tell me? I have the ignition out i'm going to check the purple wire from there. Could be a bad connection in the throtel? A friend took it off and i but it back on without any diagram.<br /><br />Rafa
