I've checked this site and saw some procedures to do this. Does anyone here know about what this should cost at the local Mercury shop?
Thanks loads

Call them and ask, different places charge different rates per hour. Problem is, if you need a gimbal bearing, I would be asking why, and what else is going to need replaced and fixed in the process. Those bearings just don't suddenly go bad.
If there was nothing done but to change the gimbal bearing, 1 to 1.5 hours plus parts should cover it.

I have done this twice recently on two different boats and by the time they are through changing the gimbal and all the boots and cables that always seem to need repairing "while you're in there" it was right at 1500.00. The bright side is if you get it done right you're good to go without worry for a while.
