The outdrive will go all the way down and there on slack...locks in place. Can raise it up and down in any position. The up limit switch works also. The problem is when you hit the bypass button to raise it all the way up the out drive locks in the up position and want come down. If you push the down button hyd unit runs but it want lower. If I break loose any hyd hose on the two lift cylinders and bleed the smallest amount of hyd fluid it will start working (I'm talking about two drops) any help would be appreciated Thanks

dont leave it all the way up. as soon as you hit the top limit, tap the down button. you are fighting a load-holding check valve.

is your fluid low?

additionally, if your fluid is dirty, you could have a sticking check valve.

Ok flushed the system and the two lift cylinders. The hyd pump had red fluid in it so I went back with power steering/trim fluid I still have the same problem. I can adjust the upper limit switch to stop it from bottoming out on up but if I'm not in the boat all the time that's where a problem could happen.....someone pushes the bypass button any ideas 💡
