I am getting ready to install new rubber on two recondition Bravo 1 drives/transom assemblies. If I can continue to endure the Florida heat... It is fmnnn HOT here! Most MC manuals recommend Quicksilver Bellows cement, while a couple recommend 3M Auto Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive. 3M warns that solvents in their adhesives may weaken paints. I painted my metal with metal etching primer followed by automotive grade urethane (2 part) and I have not experienced any noted paint destruction (tests). But what about Permatex gasket maker? This seem to make a better water seal? If anyone has had bad experiences with the last two, please respond. THX!
