Hello
I have a 3.7 merc that is blown and I've found an engine, but the seller says that it is a "165 as opposed to my 470" .I don't have any idea what he is talking about. I want to use the pistons from his engine. Will they work?
Are the engines basically the same ?

There are also inline 6 165's. They were a 6 cylinder Chevy engine, not the 4 cylinder Mercruiser 470 style engine with a model number of 165.
