which wire brings power to the dash, purple or red-purple? Maybe another wire all together? 1993 mercruiser 5.0 lxeng #od707326 thunderbolt IV ign.Nothing works at the dash, starter doesn't click, tilt/trim doesn't work, gauges don't move when key is on. There's a bus bar with power,if I jump that to switch tilt/trim works but no starter. So assuming correct color code, which wire does it. My Clymer is not very clear after the engine plug connector.
Thanks Bill

What's up Cape Cod!

Purple - it feeds the Ignition Switch to Coil & Electrical Instruments and the Distribution Panel Electrical Instruments

Here's the color codes and functions:

http://www.ancorproducts.com/Technical_information/Marine_Color_Code.php

Check the "I" terminal on your key switch and any kill switch you may have...

Now, where are the Striper running down there right now?

I would suspect a bad / corroded connection at the engine plug. You may need to even splice into the harness and bypass the wire at the plug.
