Hi again guys

Mercruiser 4.3L '88 with Alpha One

I know that you guys will recommend using OEM parts i.e. Quicksilver/Mercruiser, which I always do. However when it comes to oil I'm sure Mercruiser don't have their own refinery. Therefore Quicksilver and Sierra will both have to have someone else refine their oils for them, like ExxonMobile or Castrol.

I can get some Sierra Synthetic oil now to what seems to be the same spec as Quicksilver mineral, so what do you Oracles think of Sierra oil? Both Stern Drive and Engine.

use quicksiler high performance gear lube in your drive

unless you have a catalyzed engine, use any 25w-40, or SAE 30 oil in the engine

That'll work just fine. I use Mobile 1 in mine and change it at the recommended intervals.
